How to play seven card stud
(November 05, 2007)

Considering the fact that the game of Poker is well-known and played all around the World, Seven Card Stud Poker is one of the most popular online casino games. If we look back on history, we can make a statement that this game has been among the favorite ones for generations. Every player who has ever played Poker at his/her home is accustomed with seven card stud. Despite this, its rules are very easy to understand and in no time one can get used to its strategy. The importance of this Poker game is to get the best five-hand card out of seven which you are dealt with.

First of all, before the game starts each player must place his bet. This is why; it is called an ante game. The specific sum of money you bet with various, as it depends on the particular card rooms. After this step, the dealer handles 3 cards for every player from left to right; out of which two cards are face down – called as ‘’hole cards’’ and one card face up – known as ‘’door card’’. The betting round which was made is called the ‘’Third Street’’. In addition, the player who has the lowest door card is bound to place his bet (the Bring In bet), which must be higher than the ante bet, but lower than the minimum bet. At those casino games where the betting limit is within $1 to $5, this Bring In bet is usually somewhere around 75 cents. When this limit consists of $5 to $10, this may be of $2. In order to make sure of this, before you start a game, you should find out the certain limits of ante bets.

After placing his bet, the player who is sitting next to the bettor is allowed to call the bet, to fold or raise it. When everyone has made a bet, comes the ‘’Fourth Street’’ which includes a round where each player is dealt another card face up, followed by separate betting. The player who has the highest hand doesn’t necessarily need to place a bet; he can check the other players’ cards and pass the option of betting to the one sitting next to him, who can also act the same way. Now, as someone has placed a bet, the ‘’Fifth Street’’ takes place and the players are given a third card face up. The bettor is the one who has the highest card and the betting amount now is bigger. As an example, in a game where bets are of $5 to $10, the placed sum will be of $10. At this point comes the ‘’Sixth Street’’ betting round, players get a new card face up and whoever possesses the highest hand acts first.

At last, the seventh card is dealt face down; now every single player has four cards up and three cards face down. The last betting round takes place which is followed by showing all hands to each other. The winner is the one who has the highest five card hand. Above this, here is an exception: in case a player makes a bet and all the other ones fold, he wins and has the choice not to show his cards if he doesn’t want to. Well, these are the basic rules of Seven Card Stud and it’s advisable for you to get used to these before you want to play for real; it is not because its procedure is hard, but it’s all about the way one can handle the cards, good perceptibility and of course at least a little bit of luck.
