Lessons 16-21
If you’ve made it this far, you can’t stop now! Just a few more
lessons before you graduate from our poker school. In the last section,
we talked about tournaments and no-limit and pot-limit poker. In this
section, we’re going to step back into the realm of “normal” limit
poker, but from a slightly more advanced perspective. While we try to
make our lessons as simple and pain-free as possible, we’re going to get
a bit more specific in this section with the language we use and the
themes we discuss. Don’t worry, be happy! You’re a rapidly improving
poker player and this stuff is only fancy talk for what you already
know. Still, it helps to take a look. The next five lessons will touch
on a wide variety of themes:
Lesson 16: Sizing Up Your Opposition

investigate…
Lesson 17: Know When To Hold ’Em, Know
When To Fold ’Em – This may sound obvious, but it’s more work
than you might imagine. You’ve got to get into the habit of keeping the
right and ditching the wrong…
Lesson 18: Early Betting – The
bets you make before the flop will impact the way the whole game turns
out. That’s why it’s best to have a system for handling the early
betting stages…
Lesson 19: Table Selection –
Online poker makes it much easier to determine which table is right for
you. Here is a guide for helping you choose the right table based on
figures like flop percentage and player numbers…
Lesson 20: Finishing – Ah, the
often-overlooked latter stages of a game of poker! If we had a nickel
for every time an average player took the conclusion for granted…
Lesson 21: The Perfect Hand
– Well, class, you’ve made it through 20 poker lessons, and our last one
is just to send you out into the real world with some genuine
confidence. Have a look at this lesson for some wise words about what
constitutes a “perfect hand”…
