Poker Hotties, Pt. 2
(April 21, 2006)
Welcome to Part 2 of our series on the world of poker’s finest women.
Andrea Parker
A bonafide poker hottie and television actress who turns heads wherever she goes, Andrea Parker clearly deserves a spot on this list. Andrea’s biggest break in showbiz came in 1992, when she landed a guest spot on the popular sit-com Seinfeld. Her interest in poker is evident as well, as she recently placed second at “Hollywood Home Game 6” and won $5,000 for the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease. Incidentally, this multi-talented starlet is a trained stunt driver and has spoken publicly of her fondness for firing guns. Our kind of girl!
Clonie Gowen
Clonie Gowen is one of today’s most successful female poker players and, as a member of the crew at fulltiltpoker.com, one of the industry’s most recognizable names. Her career highlights include a first-place finish at the WPT’s Ladies Night and a sixth-place finish at the same event the following year. Being a 32 year-old mother of two hasn’t slowed her down one bit though, as she can still be seen at just about every high-profile tournament across the country. A separate note, Clonie is not related in any way to ‘80s Canadian rocker, Larry “You’re a Strange Animal” Gowan.
Jennifer Leigh
Cute, young, and blonde, Jennifer Leigh is the type of poker player likely to be underestimated. But you shouldn’t let her looks fool you. Jennifer – or “Jennicide” as she’s known online – has been studying the game for years and is now considered by many to be the highest-ranked female playing online. She developed an interest in poker after years as a dedicated computer nerd and RPG expert. At only 22 years-old she appears to have a bright future in the world of competitive poker, and what is more, adds a much-needed measure of charm to the game.
Cindy Margolis
Once the most-downloaded woman on the internet, Cindy Margolis has reinvented herself as a poker goddess. Admittedly her connection to the game is somewhat dubious, although she certainly warrants the moniker ‘hottie’. She recently launched her own poker room, where you apparently can go head to head with her. Her skills at a celebrity table have yet to be tested, but she is rumoured to have a mean poker face and the ability to distract the most focused of players.
Eileen Davidson
Eileen is most known for her work on the day-time soap opera The Days of Our Lives. She has been nominated for several Emmy’s and holds the unprecedented distinction of being the only soap actress to play five separate roles at the same time. Eileen was introduced to poker by her husband and the host and commentator of the World Poker Tour, Vince Van Patten. Eileen has played in several celebrity poker tournaments herself, and claims to be completely hooked on the game. Thank goodness, we should be seeing more of her in the near future.
